Andy Murray visits Sanchez-Casal and inaugurates court in his name

The world number 1 ATP player Andy Murray visited the Academia Sánchez-Casal on Monday to inaugurate a court that will bear his name, and receive a tribute from all the students and staff.

Murray, who arrived in Barcelona at the age of 14 and trained at Academia Sánchez-Casal for two seasons, went on to compete in ITF tournaments and, four years later, managed to place himself among the top 400 ATP players. On Monday, he took a walk down memory lane, recalling his friends and training from his days at the academy.

The World Number 1, who participates this week in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, 65º Torneo Conde Godó said in his debut at the same tournament that "Barcelona has had a very important meaning in my life" and today he once again highlighted his time at the Academia Sánchez-Casal in Barcelona.
